Training, Competition, Clinics & Sales

While growing up in Germany riding ponies of all sorts, at age 15 Lientje moved to California to
work for US Team rider Jan Ebeling and ended up staying much longer than the one year she
had planned on. Although also attending College for business, at some point Lientje clearly
wanted to work with horses for a living and made the move into the stables of five time
Olympian Steffen Peters and his wife Shannon. During her 11 years at the Peters’ stables in
San Diego, California Lientje competed horses at all levels -from winning US National Young
Horse Championships to successfully competing at CDI Grand Prix. “I am very thankful for
these years in California. I got to learn so much from Shannon and Steffen and they were so
supportive of me. It honestly was such a fun time in my life -living in California, riding, learning,
competing successfully up to Grand Prix…”

Lientje did eventually relocate to her home base of Germany, where most recently Lientje was
fortunate enough to work for Isabell Werth. Here she really was able to further her education
and have an even deeper understanding of classical dressage. “I still can’t believe I got to work
for Isabell for almost two years! She definitely was my childhood hero, and suddenly I can say I
got to learn directly from her and her team of riders.”

Leading up to this Lientje also gained lots
of knowledge learning from Jonny Hilberath and Peter Storr (GB). “Its so cool to combine a lot
of what I’ve learned over the years from different people”.

In 2024 Lientje proudly build her own stable in northern Germany near Oldenburg. In order to
provide the best possible care and training for each horse, Lientje wanted to create a small, but
exclusive stable. “I believe each horse should be seen as an individual and be treated as such
in and out of the arena!”

Now being “back home” Lientje continues to work closely with her
first trainer, mentor and friend Viola Abrahams, who has been there for her throughout all these
stages.

Besides training and competing, Lientje loves the art of matching horses and riders.
She stands behind the top quality sales horses she represents and likes to follow their path
much beyond the sale. When not at home Lientje is teaching clinics in USA, Canada, and
Australia.
